  • Civ3, Geforce Ti and Win XP

Ok I know people have been going on about this but some say everything is fine with their Geforce card, Civ3 and Windows.

What I would like to know is whether anybody has success with:

    Civ3
Geforce Ti cards ONLY (no other geforce cards)
and Win XP ONLY not 98, etc....

I have tried from driver 12.41 to 21.83 and the scroll speed stinks, advisors hosed, etc.

Can anybody get the above combination to work? and if so, what drivers are you using? I got so pissed I had to put my Voodoo3 back to overcome the problem.

    Any thoughts?

Well I have Win XP Pro, a 64MB DDR Geforce2 TI, and the latest drivers, and everything works well. What are your other specs?
I have a 1.7 P4 with 512 RDRAM, and that might make the difference.

Also I temporarily had a 32MB GeForce2 MX200, and it has horrid. Really bad scroll times and such. The new card fixed all that.

      bummer for me...

Me too. I have Win XP Pro, Gainward Geforce 2 TI 450 64 DDR, 256 MB DDR RAM and a 1 Ghz Athlon T-Bird. My scroll rate stinks and the unit move lag is a drag with the Geforce and drivers 12.41 to 21.83. I put the Voodoo3 back in and the game works great. What drivers are you using and what brand Geforce TI?

It's a VisionTek Geforce2, and I am using using the 21.83 drivers. I never had any real problem with unit lag, just with scrolling. I thought that was just poor design because my brother's was the same way (he has a 800Mhz Duron, Win2K, 8 Mb TNT2), but When I got the new video card it fixed the problem. He also decided to upgrade his video card, and it fixed his problem too. I hope the patch fixes these problems.
