Ok, I started at least 10 games now trying to recreate your problem. Deselected French and Americans, and checked everything with reveal option. Result: Everyone at correct locations, no Americans or French are in game.

Just choose all civs you want in the game when starting the scenario. Select each and every civ from the dropdown boxes at Select your rivals and instead of France and America use NONE. Start, run the tool. You don't even have to touch the C3B file. Use the original one.

I've tested it with all kinds of rivals settings earlier and had no problems.

What civ were you trying to play as?

If it still doesn't work, there might be a tricky bug in somewhere, and I'll take a look at it as soon as I have time.

      thanks, ok, I was stupid.
deleted both factions in the c3b file as well. After using the original c3b with all factions it worked fine.

I am having a little trouble. I am trying to play a real world map created by satyabed or something like that. (The topic has at least 10 pages). On one of the pages there is a .c3b file. I followed your use instructions as best as I could but my new computer is foreign to me (trying to adjust from a Mac) and I don't know what I am doing.

        Anyway,

        I load the program,

        1. type in "Save.SAV" (the file I originally saved) Is this right?

        2. Type in "map" as that is the name of the file. Should I tack a .c3b on to the end? Is this right? Where should I place the file anyway?

        3. Type in test.SAV, name that I want the new file to be. (Does it need the .SAV?)

        4. Type 0, 1, or 2 to select reveal map settings. The window then disappears instantly, but the file is created.

I enter the game, load the file test.SAV.
It says, cannot Load file, and then tells me exactly where the file is. (...Infogrames Interactive/Civ3/Saves...)

BTW, I have Windows XP if that makes a difference. No DOS...

Assuming all the files are in your scenario directory type......

          CIV3BREED SAVE.SAV MAP.C3B NEWSAVE.SAV

this should fix the start locations and create a new savegame called NEWSAVE.SAV

          Hope this helps

I just installed the 1.17 patch, and now I'm getting tile errors every time I try and use this. I'm using the one that Marla included with her earth map.

              Snippet from the instructions file:
Very useful but now doesn't work with latest patch. The last patch 1.17f is too great a fix to go back. I will try cpt.exe. Hope you update soon. Thanks for your work.

                1.17

I too would like an update for 1.17! civ3breed is so much simpler to use than CPT (not to put down CPT... just that I prefer civ3breed's simplicity )
