Hey Kitten, which version of Sat's map did you use for the monarch level save game? I downloaded the latest version (4.5), added your file to the save game files, but when I try to open it, I get an error. The only problem I can think of off the top of my head is a discrepancy in map type. I'd really like to track down the problem, as I am extraordinarily eager to play this (and I don't want to do all the work myself.)

      civ3-sge-v1-01 doesn't work here
I extract a file "Save Game Editor.exe" size 53kb only from the civ3-sge-v1-01.zip but if I call it I only get a small window with with nothing in it and Windows down's accept it as windows program.

Some times when you edit maps with the editor it also saves out the rules data, so that it can overright the default ones when it's loaded into Civ3. I've not taken this into account yet, but I'm working on it, it may well be fixed for the next version I'm not sure.

Try to use a map that doesn't have any changes to the rules data.

              James.

Well I've not try'd it with 95, only 98 and win2k. I may be using some windows stuff that's wasn't avaliable in 95.

I'll see if I can try it with 95 some where, until then there's not a lot I can do.

Try getting a copy 98 or some thing.

P.S Is any one else having this problem?

                Cheers.

Thank you SO much for the editior

After implementing the fix (16 antartic islands fr start locations), my world map works wonderfully! It is a measurable amount of work to do the setup, but well worth it considering the time already spent on the map.

                  Again Thanks!
PS. I've not had any crashes with your version 1, but I'm running Win2K.

Pure hipocrisy is how I can stand using your site

I love the modders in this site and much which they produce...I hate alot of your posters esp. Venger and his creed...I have come to accept Yin26 though

George G...can you post your save games of starting positions...so other people need not go through the effort of setting up the game...

At civfanatics people will hopefully -soon- be doing the same on this thread:

I'll post tonight my saved games again in the hope they'll work -since they contain the map etc it doesn't matter what version of map you have!

Problems could be due to some of the mods I'm running on my computer for civ3

attached here (if it works) a screenshot, after I call the tool.
Do that need a special vbrun version?

ok, let's clear this: you wrote that the civ3edit has to be open with the same map. But that's a bic file, not a sav file.
Nevertheless, I called the editor, loaded the right bic file with that I played before, called save file editor, and what I got the same is as if I call the save game editor without all other and you see at the screenshot.
Either I misunderstood you how the tool works, or it doesn't run with win95

please try to make it compatible with this OS.

Play as the Americans on the excellent world map with 16 civs in historic position...monarch difficulty.
