Installed Civ3 on both computers and only one had problems.
1st computer
Gigabyte motherboard
900 AMD Duron
128 Mb Ram
Win ME
Aopen Geforce2 MX 32MB (Driver version 6.62)
Video adapter set at full acceleration
KDS 15in monitor (dont know max refesh) was set at default hz.
This computer had no problems running game
On the other hand
Epox 8kat2 motherboard
1000 Tbird
384 Mb Ram
Win 98se
Hercules Prophet Geforce2 MX (Driver version 21.81)
monitor KDS 195e 19" max refresh at 1024/768 is 116hz and was set at optimal
This computer locked up after about 5 to 10 turns of playing time and had some distortion on the screen. Kind of looked like little horizontal white lines that would come and go.
SOLUTION for this computer was to set the Video Acceleration to 1/2 of the full acceleration. Fixed the problem.
Just wanted to pass this along so to maybe help someone else.
