What does a ZoC do?
What is the effect of a Zone of Control? Does it work in the same way for units of all domains?

The difference between industrial society and information society:
In an industrial society you take a shower when you have come home from work.
In an information society you take a shower before leaving for work. -
Only certain units have a ZoC.. and I believe the effect is for the unit to attack any enemy entering the ZoC. (I read that somewhere so I could be wrong, if I am I'm sure I'll be corrected) -
ZOC effects
Units with a ZOC get a "free shot" at units moving from one adjacent square to another. This supposedly also applies to bombardment units.
Units in a fortress automatically have a ZOC, but they may have to be fortified.
Obviously, if you want your ZOC to be effective, it is helpful to have relatively high Attack Strength units so you can effect damage on the passing units.
The Fine Print: The preceeding information is solely from what I have read in the docs, the strategy guide, and mainly in these forums. I have not personally experienced this from either perspective (giving or receiving).Comment
