  • Anything like city.txt for civ3?

I'm sorry if this has already been posted. I searched for the answer, but may have used the wrong phrases.

Is there any file that contains the names of all the cities that you can edit? I want to add cities so I don't have to do it during the game.

    Thanks,
    Gary

just use the editor and add cities.
    worked for me
you do need to start a new game from the scenario section, but that shouldn't be a problem. can still customise your world settings.
    hope this helps

ok, so I use the civ3edit file? if so, I'm really lost now... matter of fact, I'm really lost either way. Isn't civ3edit just a map builder? I couldn't find any reference to adding or naming cities.

I'm just tired of Paris 2, Orleans 2 and the like. I'd rather just break out my atlas and add a bunch of cities to all the civs so I don't have to mess with names during the game.

Sorry if I'm not understanding what you are saying, my wife does all the thinking for me and she's not here right now.

The editor has a big help file. Everything you need to get started should be in there.

Ok, thanks.. I was missing the use default tab, reading the file pointed me in the right direction.

So I can just enter in a bunch of new city names, save the file as a scenario, then start a new game from the scenario menu if I understand right...

          Thanks alot guys,
          Gary

And if you edit the civ3mod.bic file for that purpose, you can just start a normal new game and the changes will take affect.
