  • edit a save game?

Can you use the editor to change a savegame? I screwed up and changed from a wonder that was 1 turn from being done (tried to move it to another wonder) and clicked a unit and ok (didnt realize I hit the wrong button) and lost all of my shields. I went to far and don't have a good autosave now. Any ideas?

The editor will not at this time open a savegame. I tried it and it won't see any files except those with the "bic" extension. I tried changing the extension of a savegame file to ".bic", but it wouldn't open it that way, either.

I suspect that the editor in its present incarnation would not know what to do with a savegame file's contents, since it can't place cities or units. Hopefully, when they publish the real editor (as they have promised), it will have the ability to open a saved game and save it as a scenario like you could in Civ2 (the Civ2 sequence was different since the editor was integrated with the game program, but the end result was the same).

If the final editor won't do that, I suspect that some enterprising person will create a saved-game editor like Corion2 for MOO2, or perhaps a savegame-to-scenario conversion utility.
