  • Civ Colors and new units -- WTF?

Is anybody else having this problem -- If I try and change the colors for the Civs, the game crashes. God forbid that I try to change the traditional British orange and American sky blue colors.

Second problem, the game crashes when it come time to make modified units. I had the unmitigated gall to change the Iriquois' special unit's NAME -- nothing else, just the name of the unit -- and the whole damn thing crashed.

This editor is a big, fresh, fragrant and steaming pantload.

I could try to deal with the limitations of the editor -- no scenarios possible -- if the things they DID include actually worked.

Re: changing the name of the units: did you read the help file that came with the editor? If you rename units, you must rename a directory and INI file in the Art/Units folder that corresponds to that unit.

Did you make sure that the unique colors really were unique?

        Hiya,

I've never changed the name of the units, so I haven't run into that problem, but I get the same results when I try to use any of the non-standard (i.e. not already in use) colors.

I can make the Aztecs and the U.S. switch, or any other civs switch, but using other colors on the palette does indeed cause a GPF error upon start-up.

        Best,

        Scott

is it possible to add units yet? or at least more than the 21 you can add in an indirect way. I'm working on a huge modpack involving a lot more than 21 new units (mostly CU), but will I be able to add them, or after the patch is released?
