  • Worker and Tech Tree Issues

First off, I love the game more than the last few incarnations but I can't get past these 2 things.

    1. When I automate a worker they always build roads and then a mine on the square they just built a road on. No matter what I set the city governors to other than production. They always build roads and they always build mines. They never irrigate, clean pollution, etc...

    2. The book says you don't need to complete the entire Tech Tree to move to the next era of advancement. Yet, in the 10-12 games I've tested the gameplay on, I always have to complete the entire tree or I can't get into the next age.

Let me know if you find or hear something about this.

I havn't seen the exact same issue, infact I have seen workers clean polution, but I do concur in that the workers are far too eager to build mines just about everywhere they can. More importantly, they'll pass up a blank square with *no* improvements, and decide to build a mine on a pre-existing square with irriigation.

Also, not the entirety of the Tech Tree needs to be completed, though the majority of it does: Pages 94-95 in the manual indicate those advances which are not required for advancement.
