Having a problem with crashes due to the SOUND.DLL file, first time I played I had no sound whatsoever past the intro screens, and got an error due to sound.dll when exiting the game. After rebooting , the sound was fine, but crashed during the game again due to sound.dll

    system: win ME/P4 1.4/santa cruz turtle beach soundcard/256MB RDRAM/GEforce 2 GTS

anyone else with this problem, or have an idea how to fix it??

also, any get resources online to learn how to get the hang of this game?? this is my first CIV game, and i've liked it in the few hours i've had to screw around with it, the tutorial isn't real helpful and the manual is HUGE, so i've just been reading bits of it and using trial and error so far.

    sound.dll error

I also receive the error "Civilization3 has caused an invalid page fault in sound.dll" every time I exit the game.

    Otherwise it is completely playable.

You are the first person I've heard of, other than me to experience this problem.

Unfortunately, since the game is so new, I haven't found a fix for it quite yet.

    Any news?

    thanks,

I get the sound.dll error around half the time when exiting the game too, and I also noticed I'll have no sound at all if I let the intro play through.

the whole thing only caused my game to crash that one time though, so the above things haven't really bothered me too much.
