  • Earth map quality & rules editor

    1) Um, where might I find this in the game?

    2) Did they hire a 14th century cartographer to do the earth maps? I've only seen them in the editor, but they are terrible. Civ II's maps were far superior.

I don't quite understand... you know how to run the editor, but you want to know how to access the editor?

I can go to the Start menu / Programs / [skip] / Civ3Edit but I cannot find the tab menu with all the options (Rules.txt replacement) anywhere.

Click on the Tools menu, then disable "Use Default Rules". Open "Rules" menu. Goto "Edit Rules".

Now if only I could somehow find out if these changes are having any impact whatsoever on the game (I can't run the game, so I've been fiddling with the editor)
        *grumbles about work*

Wow, that's intuitive. Much better than having a button to change before starting a game.

I was able to alter the rules for one of the Earth "maps" (quotes since these don't qualify).
