Well I'm sorry to inform you, but I haven't found a way yet to have all 16 of my civs with the pre-set colors for each civ, load as it should. So Riddle me a new one.

you can set the colors in the eidtor, under civilizations. You dont have to save everytime you do this, only one time.

btw what patch do you have?

Yoda Power is right, there is no reason we can see to do what your talking about. Maybe if you embellish a little, if your talking about a save game editor for starting positions, the latest patch for Civ3 vanilla has a way to position them, and if you are talking save game alliances, then you should have told us . Or did you? No Civ3 isn't perfect, but C3C promises locked alliances, and PtW offered a lot more than Civ3, it's not perfect, but it's getting better.

Do you have the expansion(s) for Civ2??

You jumped into and bumped an old thread discussion what the features of the original editor might be.

SWo the editor discussed is the valilla editor.

Ok, I'm using "Civilization III v1.29f" ... NOT PTW. Although I just acquired it the other day. I'll explain my problem in a little more detail below...

In the scenario properties, you have a list of civilizations that are classified as "Playable". Now, when I saved my scenario, then exited and loaded the scenario. On my start-up screen, I only saw "Americans" available to choose from.

So I went back into the editor, and I looked everything over, and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't allow me to choose from the entire 16 civs on the start up screen.

Then it hit me, I noticed that "Human Player" was checked for Americans, meaning that only Americans would be playable by humans. So, I unchecked it. Then I entered the game again, and the same thing happened, Americans were still the only Civ available to "play".

So the only thing I could figure to do, was to set the "Any/Random" toggle in the "Civilizations" drop-down window inside the Scenario properties. But when I did that, I got an entirely new problem. Oh sure, I could play any 16 of my civs off the startup screen, but every Civ I chose was "Light Blue", why is that? I preset all of my colors, lock them in to thier own colors. Yet, I play Russians and I'm "Light Blue". I have found NO WAY around this to date.

The only way I was able to have all 16 of my designated civs "playable" with thier appropriate colors, was to create an individual civilization "bic/sav" for each country, using the "Human Player" toggle for all 16 civs, then saving for all 16 civs. I even had some hardcore civ buddies of mine try and help me with this problem, and they too said that the only way to do it was the 16-bic-file save method. Otherwise I'll end up with a choice of 16 civs, and whatever civ I choose will give me "Light Blue" for a color, without choice.

Now I hear what you guys are saying, but I'm sorry, the editor is right in front of me, and I've been through it a million times, what you guys are saying (and I really mean no offense, I'm just frustrated with it) is just not materializing for me here. I would love for someone to show me something I'm missing, or help me figure out a better way around this, but it just ain't happening.

            Any ideas?

when scenarios properties is on, you choose the civ color in there, not the normal civ editor. So its really easy, you just looked the wrong place.

No, I didn't look in the wrong place.

I told you, I tried *everything*, including the Scenario Properties color tab, how can anyone not see the color drop down on that menu?

As I said, it doesn't matter what color I have each civ set at, it still only shows the "human player" country as "Light Blue".

                Back to the drawing board.
