Road buiding and screen scrolling.

Can you order a worker to build a road from one square to another square a few squares away like in Civ 4 or do you have to build it square by square like in Civ 2?

Also, I just got Civ 4 and the screen scrolling is giving me headaches and mild nausea. The screen glides around instead of jumping crisply like it does in Civ 2 and Alpha Centauri.

How is the screen scrolling in Civ 3?

You can instruct a worker to road to a particular square. Hover over the standard worker action buttons and you should find one.
