Civ 3 on other platforms?

does anyone know if civ there will ever be re released on ps2? I wonder why it never made it to gaming systems (outside of civ2 of course). any ideas?

I doubt you'll be seeing Civ3 on any consoles. Though I recall seeing in Poly news a comment by a Firaxian that the new consoles (360 & PS3, anyway) are finally powerful enough to seriously consider Civ ports in future.

Civ2 was released on PS2? Must have been such a pain to play without a mouse, not to mention a limited number of buttons...

I cut my teeth on CIVII on Playstation, it was not so bad, first game something like 18+ hours straight.

I had watched my son playing, the music actually caught my attention.

He was going to be gone, so i played a game of it on our 60" T V Screen.

Actually I played my first game like 4 hours restarted and played another 14

same next day.

Ended up purchasing Call To Power for PC
