  • Coal Plant with no Coal...

Would someone please remind me......if I have a Coal Plant and my Coal source is cut off, does the Plant lose its 50% shield bonus?

I actually have no idea. I know rails will still work completely. If I had to guess I'd imagine they'd still work, but you should probably set up a scenario to test it.

I would suspect Kloreep has it right.

Kloreep, you weren't supposed to notice this thread

For some reason I've always thought a Coal Plant without Coal connected won't work - perhaps I've seen it posted somewhere in the dim distant past of Civ3....but I really can't remember anymore.

Wouldn't want to waste shields building a Coal plant if I lost my Coal source, now would I?

If you are without coal, the shields for the plant is the least of the problems.

Not if you've already railroaded your entire empire. Coal's not good for much else besides railroads and Coal Plants
