  • Install and Run Help

I recently purchased Civilization 3. After installing it I attempted to run the game and it is not recognizing the disk for some reason. I tried restarting my computer and even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. If I put the disk in the drive it starts autorun but as soon as I click to play the game it stays to insert the disk in the drive. If anyone has had this problem or knows why this is happening please let me know.

This means the copy protection is not recognizing it as a legitimate copy of the disk. (You don't actually need the Civ3 CD for its files if you did a full install, but it requires it to run anyway.) I'd contact Atari tech support; hopefully they can fix the problem, and if not, they should be able to give you a patch to bypass the copy protection.

thanks a lot. I contacted the 2k games support line and they seem to think that I don't even have the right disk. They said it sounds like I have the Civ III COmplete disk???? I don't know, but I'm not very happy. The stores where I live won't take back PC games once they are open, no matter what. But I will try mention what you said when I get in contact with the support staff again (they're supposed to email me)supposed But thanks for your help, I appreciate it!!!
