Palace and City View Lost During Rules Edit

When modding Civ 3 Conquests with the scenario editor, just changing the rules, I've noticed that the palace rewards feature disappears, and the city view disappears (you know, when you physically see your city). Is there any way to edit the rules to my liking without giving these features up?

I don't know. I've wanting to know that too though, it happens for all of my custom scenaciros. Having said that the 'real world map' is a custom scenario and yet this rule doesn't apply

City view and palace reward functions are only available with the default main game. Changing the game rules using the editor locks these functions out. I'm not sure if simply creating blank maps using the standard game rules locks these functions out as well.

There was a reason why it was locked - I can't remember exactly but I think it was something to do with the way the game was written in that these functions were hard coded into the game engine. I could be wrong though...

it might be possible, but if it is it would involve modding the .ini file That can screw up your game so make sure you back it up before beginning any editing of it. Check out the customization section, they would know for sure.

My understanding is that the did not want to take the time to make the view work for the new items for towns, wonders and such. It would not have cost money for the pix as people had offered to create the stuff for them.

It probably would have need some work to fit all the new things in the city view. The just left the old view as it was and disabled any non epic games from using that feature.

I know but I remember reading some ware that that flag can be changed in the .ini file to allow it in scenerios. I could be mistaken. Cant tell you how long ago it was when Ive played a vanilla game.

I just checked the list put out by Mike B. years ago for all ini settings and could not find one.

Well like I said it was a long time ago and I'm not a modder like that anyway. So it does seem to be hard coded.
