Editor Problems

Help! I have completely fouled up my CIV3GOLD experience! I made some Civilizations changes in the editor and now things are messed up.

When I try to change my science slider it doesn't matter if I change it up or down it still takes 40 turns to get to the next advance. It also is now taking me twice as long to build settlers, warriors, spearmen, etc...

For example it now takes 30 to build a settler, 10 for a warrior.

I completely uninstalled CIV3 and re-installed and it is still messed up. Any ideas?

Not sure anything you mentioned is a problem. Settlers take 30 shields. So if you only net 1 shields it will take 30 turns. It can also take any length of time if you cannot grow to size 3.

Warriors are 10 shields, so same thing. 10 turns.

Science is max at 40 in Civ3 (50 for Conquest). So if you do not make enough beakers to go faster, it will take 40 turns regardless of the slider. Well if you at least have 10%, if set to zero it will never finish.

BTW if you had done it otherwise, you may have enabled AP (accelerate producion). This makes things go faster.

Thanks, it just looked wrong. It seems like before I tried to get fancy with the editor the science slider changed #of turns when I moved it up or down. I'll keep at it. I don't think I'll mess with the editor anymore though.

changes you make to the editor will only affect saved scenarios, unless you create a new Bic/Bix/Biq. Whne you make a map in the editor and save it as Abc, it will only be used by loading the scenario.

If you replace the Biq for Conquest or Bix for PTW or the Bic for CivIII, then those new rules are used for any new maps.

In any event, reinstalling will put things back.
