why did my animations go away??

I was in the middle of playing a game and my unit animations turned off. They are still set to show them in the preferences, but they will not show. Did I hit some hotkey or something by accident and turn them off? I even shutdown the game, and tried starting a new game and still no animations. Any clue as to what I did? I like watch my little guys walk around. hehe. Thanks.

this is just a guess, so maybe wait and see if someone wiser has any ideas. at first glance, i'd say it looks like you have some lost or corrupted files. you might need to copy those files across from the cd. if that doesn't work, you might have to do a re-install.

having said that, corrupted files doesn't seem quite right. if that were the case, i'd expect to see a crash to desk-top or similar.

as far as hot-keys go, that's always possible. ever since my cat had kittens, i've been discovering hot-keys i never knew existed.

Before any major uninstalling or whatever, just try turning them off in the preferences, then back on. Also make sure that both "Show my moves" and "Animate my moves" are checked. If it's not showing them, it won't animate them either

Also make sure the caps lock is not switched on. I accidently caught it one game and it had me baffled as to what was going off. Now I use it as a handy shortcut when the AI is moving ships from one end of the planet to the other and they have that annoying habit of moving one...then the other...then the other....

HOW TRUE! (I am also glad to hear that in Civ4 we dont have to sit and watch the other players do their turns anymore! )
