Play different civs.

How can I play other civilizations in a scenario if there is only one choice at the civ. selection screen. Do I have to use Civ edit and if so how.

Do you mean a provided scenario? In that case you would have to edit it. Find the Start Location for the Player1 or whatever civ it is.

Then use the reassign to set it to Player1. Then you should be able to select any civ not already assigned.
