It is actually supposed to happen. I don't remember much about it, I just remember reading something about force feedback support about the time it came out.

Logitech has tried to sell a force feedback mouse, but it wasn't really successful.

when does the force feedback occur? Seems like an odd feature for Civ...

Force Feedback sucks. It just annoys me while it ads nothing to the game (any game)

And I can't see any point in having it in a Civ game
This space is empty... or is it?

never used a force feedback mouse. only gamepads. I guess that force feedback in civ 3 was made for mouses.

I'm still mystified to what would even trigger a force feedback? Your horseman attacking archers? A city rioting? Bombs dropping from bombers?

Perhaps the recoil is designed for those times you are forced to look at Catherine of Russia or Elizabeth of England

I don't see the point for Civ either...

In a racing game it helped me pick up on tire slippage and terrain without having to rely on visual cues... it was a genuine source of information.

In x-wing alliance it helped me decide how badly I had gotten hit, an armor hit feels different than a shield hit.

i like force feedback in general but just felt weird having it in civ 3. its useless for me cause i dont have a force feedback mouse but yet.... my forcefeedback gamepad still gets it from civ 3... there should be a new patch to disable force feedback in civ on every gamepad, joystick but force feedback mouses.
