  • CIV III - disable worker + friendly enemy unit movement display

    Hi,

i am playing CIV once every 2 years for a week and what allways goes on my nerves is the enhancing passive time I spend in front of the game.

In the begining its nice to nurse every single unit, but when coming to 1700, having 30 automated workes + 2 friendly neighbours moving up and down the border i really feel that i spend more time looking at automated unit moveents than really activly playing.

Is there any way to switch off those movements? I simply don't like to watch them. I am sure there is - because Civ is great :-)

    Thx for reading,

    See the Preferences menu.

    There are multilple layers here.

You can disable animations for certian types.

And you can also disable show moves for certain types.

    There are 3 types:
    automatic moves [yours only)
    enemy civ at war
    enemy civ at peace

And you can also deanimate in the middle of the AI move by either holding down "shift" or turning on caps lock.

Your still forced to watch an AI fighting another AI when you have a scan of at least one of the tiles involved.

AI: I sure wish Jon would hurry up and complete his turn, he's been at it for over 1,200,000 milliseconds now.

      Seems to be an issue

      Hi,

thanks for the sudden response - yeah i didn't talk about that settings. For sure i disabled all movements in that menu - but it doesn't seem to affect. The shift key isn't working for me either. Maybe I should be looking for a version update? Mine is V 1.07x, outdated quite some time i see.

        1.07?

Definitely get the patch. I'm not sure how much it'll help with this particular issues, but it fixes a ton of bugs and other issues.
