  • The AI uses artillary

Ok so I was palying the rise and rule mod for conquests and I have also added my own tweaks and I saw the AI use artillary. Yes they used the artillary as in they shot several spaced away and hit enemey units. they use it quite alot too they even set up a firebase type thing on a mountian. I started in the modern era so I have only seen them use radar artillary which has 4 movments with blitz dont know if it matters. I can put the mod and my save game on later if anyone would like to see it.

That is very true about the AI building artillery type units, but the AI uses standard artillary units pretty poorly. Sure, it knows about defensive bombard, but doesn't seem to know much about offensive bombard to soften up targets.

What type of files are those?

RAR compressed file archives, similar to (but arguably more efficient than) ZIP. www.rarlabs.com

The AI will use bombard units offensively (stacked with defenders), but only if it has plenty of units overall. Most of the time, it will only keep them in cities for defense. They do use captured bombard units offensively.

From experience: usually less efficient for single files, but always more efficient for multiple files. The interface is better than any ZIP tools I saw.

Elias, what kind of tweaks exactly do you think produced this effect? I'd like to explore this a bit, and possibly suggest like changes for the AU Mod.

I think a big part of it is just the range but im not realy sure it could be a number or things or just how they fit together. You can look at the unit in senario and check out the tweaks yourself.
