How do you limit the number of cities for all players..ie. No player can build more tham say, 6 cities in this particular scenario/mod whatever it's called..?!
    Many thanks, GG

one idea is to give them 6 settlers, and then make all civs unable to build settlers.

though it kind of sucks if they lose one of those to barbarians

To keep the AI from losing one of those settlers to easy to barbs, also start with equal numbers of warriors and settlers. Or one fewer warrior than settlers if all are starting in the same tile, since the first thing the AI is going to do is found a city with one of those settlers.

What kind of mod are you making?

This is somewhat random, but what would happen if you started an AI out on a mountain or marsh? Would they just never build a city or would they actually move to a new spot?

Don't place any starting location on a tile that cities are not allowed to be built.

                I certainly wasn't planning to.

It was a random curiosity question that you've failed to answer...

AI likely to comit sucide if it's starting location is on a tile that cities are not allowed. (Even Marsh with a worker)

Also, do not place starting locations directly next to each other. In this case, the AI won't commit sucide, but the one that finds itself inside the other's cultural boundary will stay parked until asked to declare war or leave.
