Dyp.....??

Unfortunately, I have only recently discovered this civ series....too much xbox i'm afraid. i am hooked. Have just made the step up to regent and am doing fine. I have seen much talk about this dyp, and them guys have clearly put in a LOT of work. Should I just scrap ptw and spend my time playing dyp?? There are probably other threads on this, but this is a big forum. Are the massive game enhancements in dyp spot on, or should a newbie exhaust ptw firstly? wot say you all?? Don't wanna be playing half a game, if you get ma drift. Thanks.

If you just started playing Civ I advise you to stay away from the DYP mod until can beat the regurlar game frequently.

i thought that might be the case - i shall download dyp and leave it in the wings.

had my pc for a year now, and cannay believe i never came across this series sooner. all them hours wasted on galactic civilizations..........

boft II would have been sooo much better - but i digress....

i'm new to all this civ meself, but it seems them lads on that mod are in the wrong job. I even saw that some guy no the forums called snoopy ended up on the ptw disc - hope he got some renumeration......some of the graphic mod work out there is v. impressive not to mention the coding they do.

You are talking about Snoopy's graphics? Warpstorm also did something that was included in Civ3. Yes, their work is quite good.

Thanks for the information about DYP, yes I've heard of that mod, but I haven't checked it out yet.

DYP is for PTW. The version for C3C is Rise and Rule, available at CFC - Rise and Rule thread

Not the same thing, the DIY mod is a very different from the normal game.
I tried it once and though I appreciate the effort, it was just too much of a change for me personally.

I also dislike mods that completely change the original game, unless I'm tired of playing the original game.
