MGL SGL Civ3 Complete

Search function is down, sorry if this has been answered.

It is my understanding, that if you have a MGL, you can not get another MGL or SGL. And if you have a SGL you CAN get either a SGL or a MGL.

Assuming this is accurate, does anyone know if this was changed in Civ3 complete? I currently have a SGL and am in position to get another one. In trying to answer this, I did a number of reloads to no avail.

Ok, I was able to get a 2nd SGL. Was not able to get a third. Still wondering if anything changed with this version.

Always helpfull to know if you have to "burn" a leader in a given situation.

If you have an MGL, you definately cannot get another MGL. You can use him to make an army or something and get another on the same turn, however.

Whether that applies also to SGL's, I do not know offhand. I've hardly ever been put in the position of getting A SGL let along MULTIPLE...

My understanding is that if you have either type of leader, you can't get an MGL, but can get an SGL. I've had three SGL's saved up before, so I can attest to the possibility of having three at the same time.

Now that is just greedy. Can't even remember my last SGL.

I got 2 SGLs in my last game. My first SGL in ages and two in one game! Alas, I got them for Steel and Flight. Having already built TOE and Hoover, there was nothing for them to do at all until the UN came along.

I hear there's a bug with 1.22 that results in any mod never getting SGLs.

I've been lucky enough to get an SGL early enough for the Pyramids in two of my last three or four games.

Could be, but I don't use a mod, except one AU game. It is mainly because at Sid you are only first to two techs, at least the way I play. Those are not a lock, but Writing and Philo are my only shots. I don't research after the GL at all. I used to try for an optional with a solo scientist, but I have so many aborted attempts, I stop doing it.

Since I am not scientific, it will probably be only a dream to get any SGL's. Often I am not the first to writing either, only Philo and that is not a given as I said.

I've gotten SGLs with the AU Mod.

Not any mod - any mod that unchecks the 'default game rules' (to change preserve seed, accelerated production, etc) box in the scenario properties.

If a mod does that, then players get no option to enable scientific leaders in the startup screen.

I believe this is incorrect.

If you have a MGL you cannot get another MGL BUT you can get a SGL.

If you have a SGL you can get either a MGL or another SGL.

I've seen screenshots with three SGL's tucked away in a city. Incredible.
