  • God loves me

Started with a wheat and two luxuries in the city radius. Not bad. I sent my warrior out to a goody hut. Free settler. First tech I researched sprung a scientific leader. My warriors continued, finding two more luxuries quite near. Then I got Philosophy first, granting me a free tech, and a second scientific leader before I had even decided what to do with the first one.

Clearly it is Sid that loves you, not God.

Once I got something like fourteen (!!!) SGL's in one game.

        It also means game over.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

I am not sure which is more depressing the game Jaguar is having or the 14 SGL's. *vmxa presses face to window to see how the others live the good life *

What's and SGL? What is a science leader? Is it a "Conquests" thing? I only have reg Civ III.

SGL is science leader. And yes AFAIK, it's Conquests thing. It's similar to a great leader you sometimes gain from having an elite unit winning a victory but you get it from researching a tech.

SGL's are only in Conquest add on. They can be used to rush great wonders or increase research for a time. In Conquest the MGL (military great leader) cannot rush great wonders.

Basically they split some of the capabilities from the MGL and gave them to the SGL (scientific great leader).

The one time I was pretty lucky was when I got 3 or 4 SGL in a row, with the Japanese. And I was begining the Industrial Age. On that game I had a total of 6 or 7 SGL's. It pretty much meant game over.

On the darker side, ultimately I have SGL's only when I research Robotics or other such tech - when even a SGA seems kinda waste.

Kuciwalker: Arrian pretty much walked 'poly towards the Dark Side in terms of builders learning to warmonger to harvest GLs. He didn't do it on purpose... But Firaxis had to respond.

                              That's sick.
