  • Wraparounds; saving rule changes

2 fairly basic questions regarding Edits/Mods in vanilla Civ3:

    1. Is there any way to have a non-wraparound map in:
    (a) a new random game?
    (b) a map that I create?

(I'm thinking that, for (b), the only solution is to make a mountain barrier on the east and west ends.)

    2. If I have made rule changes that I like for a particular map/scenario that I have created, how can I save this particular set of rule changes and use it for:
    (a) new random games?
    (b) a new scenario, without having to input all the rule changes again?

Thanks. Sorry if these are too newbie and/or easily found somewhere else.

    1. I don't think that no-wrap arounds were correctly implemented before PTW.

2a. Make a copy of the scenario, load it in the editor and select that it should contain no map, and save that.

2b. Make a copy of the scenario, load it in the editor and make a new map.

There is no "no map" selection, so I figured that you meant simply to save the copy with a blank map. When I tried a new random game, Civ3 tried to use the blank map instead of generating a random map, resulting in an error (no place to put starting positions on blank map).

What am I doing wrong? Is there a "save as no map" flag or checkbox? Thanks.

Deselect "Custom Map" in the scenario menu

            It worked, of course. Thanks.
