  • Civ attitude and mutual protection pacts

I know that when a civ is at war with you it is always furious, even if that civ was dragged into the war via a mutual protection pact. My question is: If a polite civ is dragged into war with me and I eventually make peace, do I still have to wait dozens and dozens of turns for the hatred to die down or do they go back to polite again?

Does it matter if I caused any casualties or not? Does it matter if I started the war or not?

I've had Civs start a war after I've refused their demands or they've been brought into a war by a MPP and they've stayed as annoyed. In those examples, neither of us sent any units to attack each other, with us being on different continents. I don't think it's the war itself that makes them furious, it's you attacking their units or cities.
