      cops?

no I meant game mod. For the game of civ3. something to spice it up a little, but maintain some sort of historical meaning.

I wonder if there's a civil war mod... American that is. Or even The revolutionary war

I would highly recommend Rise and Rule over at CFC. Multitudes of strategic decisions, but still an epic game. Very well done, but be sure to read the civpedia a lot with it with all the changes, lots of stuff to pick up. Turn up the AI difficulty a notch or two as well, it doesn't cope well with a lot of changes (especially the reduced food production).

On the other side of the spectrum, of course, is the AU mod, which also tries to increase strategic choice, only without hurting the AI.

As a result, there are not nearly as many changes, so it's easy to pick up.

If you really like the ancient age, you may want to check out TAM (The Ancient Mediterranian). It's not really balanced, but it's definitely cool. 3 of the 4 ages are, anyway. The 4th is weak (even weaker than the stock modern age).

              I've been enjoying it.

I will probably check out Rise 'n Rule soon.

TAM and the American Civil War is pretty good too.

I think I'll try the AU mod.

I've been playing Ultraman's Home World mod, its really nice, he made a lot of changes ones to be noted are full upgrade paths, lethal bombardment and airstrikes, higher movement for modern weaponry, more realistic resources and land this such as lots of food on the coastline, and he put in Marla's World Map, and made sure that it was top notch with resources and starting locations. This is the best mod i've played and I definatly recommend it.

                      Happy Moding everyone.

What do I need to do to use a mod? Civ3Complete comes with a few built in and it is easy to load one of these, play it, and go back to the normal version. What do I need to do to use for example the AU mod or World 2004? Do I need to back up my current files? How do I switch between these easily?

Just unzip it into your 'Scenarios' folder, it should at the same folder level as your 'Saves' folder. Then just click 'Civ-Content' and select your mod of choice, like any of the others that come with C3C.
