Heres a question. I'm deep into a game of CivIII, and I have noticed that the music has changed with the eras. But it plays the same thing over and over again. In the conquests, the music changes periodicly. And it sounds good. I have never heard any of this music in the main game. Is there a way to get more variety out of the music provided? Like you could with Civ II. Honestly, the reptative nature of the main muisc has caused me to nod off during the game. Any ideas or mods that can unlock some of this other music in the game?

I don't know if anyone ever found out exactly how to control the music. We tried to have custom music for a scen at CFC a year ago or so, but never got anywhere.
Anyway, never have the game music on, but prefer to have WinAmp running in the background. Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

It's a great program for playing MP3's.
Go to Winamp.com
Highy configurable. Does take up memory though. Wouldn't playing it slow CivIII down? In the modern era, I don't need slower.
Of course I could just buy a faster computer.
I am still curious though. Does anybody know about the other music in the game. I know its there since it plays at other times and in conquests, just not in the main game. I'm all for playing my oun music, but I do want to know about the stuff that came with it. I am getting the impression that I havn't heard half of it.

I always turn the music and sound off to save on resources."And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961

I have Civ III Complete but I hope this helps.
Sounds for the main game:

PTW:

Poke around the files below the sound folder and you might find what you're after.Banano Laŭrajta Registaro en Ekzilo - Bananoj gismorte!| Cows O' Plenty|Wish List For ciV | Ming on Spammers: ...And, how do you know that I'm not just spamming by answering him |"This is all about peace; and in the quest for peace you have none." -my son wise beyond his years
