  • phantom civ?

I destroyed the Chinese, yet they don't dissapear from the F4 screen. They do dissapear from the espionage screen though, so I guess that means they do not have a city on some far island in the ocean.

I made peace and asked for a world and territory map, but I still cannot find them.

    What gives?

    Another thing:
I had the Great Library, but I still got Education from it. Only then did the end of the wonder kick in. In the previous turn, the US build Copernicus AND I know the Japs have education as well.
Does this mean that the Great Library only works for the civ's you have made contact with?

    Hi,

There are two possibilities: or Respawn AI is activated, or there is some settler of them left somewhere, probably in a boat around.

About the Great Library, I think that it works until YOUR civivilization have reached Education, it is to say also when two other civs get it, because then you will have it automatically from the Great Library. If less than 2 other civs than your have Education, you might get Military Tradition from them.

      Thanks, the settler makes sense.

      On GL:
order of events: I know Japan has Education, next turn the US (haven't met them) builds Copernicus (they need Education for that), yet it is not untill Japan trades Education with the Russians (who I also have met) that Education kills GL.

I think GL works only on techs posessed by known civs.

Civilization receives any civilization advance already discovered by 2 other known civs for free.

Yes... just to clarify, if in possession of the GLib, one learns ALL techs known by two or more other civs on the turn you learn Education. That includes Education itself and in fact any tech beyond it on the tree.
