Can a German version of Civ III be Translated to English?

I am wondering if it is possible to download something to translate a German version of Civ III to english? I would apprieciate any help anyone could give me with this.

I'm not sure if this is possible. Is buying an English version a viable option for you?

I don't know if this would work but perhaps it is possible for someone with English version to send you a copy of the file with English text dialogues and so on which can be copied over the German version.

There has been an effort to translate the US version into German three years ago, as the localized German version was published only months later. This fan effort was shot down by Infogrames (today Atari) in a very rude way. Sorry to tell you, that nobody can and will help you, at least legally (this site does not condone illegal actions). Buy an English version, as I also did. Ebay is your friend.
