hi, im new here and have searched for a similar problem, but have found nothing that addresses my situa.
I have been playing civ 3, ptw, and conquests for a while...I know that they work on my system, but recently I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows2000(which is what i was using before) this wasnt the first time i had done this...though, the first time I simply needed to move the needed files into the system32 folder and vwallah! the game worked. this time around i expected the same thing, but no luck. It just keeps on crashing every time i attempt to start it up...I start the application and it flashes the screen black for a second and then, every time, it says "civilization3x.e.exe (or Conquests.e.exe) has encountered and error and will close" not stating a specific error. I just went through the gauntlet trying to get black and white work on the new formatt, and that game is chaulked-full of win2k errors and bugs, so the fact that i cant even imagine\locate the problem with it(and that its my favorite game) is doublyfrustrating...
