What exactly does a golden age do? And how do you enter it? Last time my civilization entered a golden age when I had an imortal kill a babolyonian warrior.

You enter a GA by either winning a battle with your UU (not against barbs) or building any combo of wonders that matches both your civ traits. A GA adds one shield and one commerce to each square already producing at least one.

This might be my imagination...but it seems that my Golden Age lasts longer when I trigger it by a Wonder completion than compared to triggering it with combat...

Of course, it might seem like the Golden Age is shorter due to me being in a war as compared to just watching the grass grow while I'm busy building/expanding my empire....but it just seems that Wonder completion Golden Ages last longer...but I have no firm proof of this.

        20 turns...no matter what.

And onto a question for Shadow Fighter. I don't mean anything nasty by this, but have you read the Civ3 instruction manual? People at 'Poly are always happy to help newcomers, but several of the threads you've started contain questions that are very easily answered by reading the manual.

Actually, Rhoth, I'd recommend the Civilopedia instead... while still not entirely accurate, it's prolly better than trying to get through the various manuals and updates.
