BTW, before that save the northern half (ie. virtually all the grassland) was jungle, and the island to the west was completely jungle except, of course, for the hills.

To the detriment of my games in AU, PBEMs, and DGs, I happened across UnO's rant in MZO, followed it here, and downloaded this damnable game.

Uh, HELLO!, can we say worst KAI nightmare imaginable: Vikings, archipelago, KAI in the Middle Ages, with Colossus, GLighthouse, Hanging Gardens, Great Wall, Temple of Artemis, Sun Tzu, Knights Templar, Leo's, Sistine, and then Magellan, fer chrissakes!!! I've actually had to fend off serious AI Berserk attacks!! (YAY for the AI!!)

I'm interested to see where Dom went from what was posted above... I am doing fine, but am at a crossroads in how to deal with Scandy, which is waaay ahead of me.

I'll post some screenies re my progress in the next day or two.

In the meantime, going back to my original thoughts on KAIs (i.e., the rich get richer), get a load of the Scandy start... yeah, and there's iron to the north and gems to the east.

[EDIT: Scandy's start is north of the river, at 9 of the delta]

Wow. Personally, I'd want more rivers, but hey. That's a lotta cows.

Yes, this was the first time I'ld ever seen serious Berserk attacks from an AI as well.

Glad to see more folks are having fun with this game, look forward to seeing your reports.

Done... domination in 1950 AD (and a pleasurable domination indeed!! ). Gimme a few days to put the AAR together... I still have to finish my AU game and report on it as well.

It was a pretty exciting game, btw... capturing Trondheim, loaded with GWs, was really something: Over 80 units on the attack, and IIRC it was the last Infantry that broke through (reminiscent of something, hmmm??? ). The Vikings in general were awesome... as stated above, serious Berserk threats, but also, even after I'd gutted their homeland, they still had totally superior naval power, and thus just trying to move my troops around via ship, and protecting the sea lanes, was quite challenging.

This wasn't quite the level of 'So Very Cold', but still one of my tougher games, and I'm happy to have won it.

Sorry all, I abandoned this game some time ago, probably in favor of an AU course. It looked like a difficult game, so congrats to all who finished it.
