The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

Like I said, I was just screwing around, so I didn't focus quite as much as I should have... Here are the first 40 turns (with an addendum, because I ain't no dirty spammer), with a rough DAR and the save:
Set research as low as possible, aiming at writing in 50 turns. Build warrior->worker->settler->granary->settler
3000BC: Settler has been produced, and moves to 44. Builds warriorx2 (both MP), then starts on Granary to become the first worker pump.
2670BC: meet the Ottomans, hold out trading until a good trade comes along...
2550BC: meet Americans, who have alpha, pottery, BW, WC, CB, Masonry. I trade Alpha, pottery and 18 gold with Ottomans for all of the afforementioned techs (which they also have). They both, after another couple of turns, have IW, Myst and Wheel. T, is this Demigod?
2430BC: 1st granary comes online, in the capital, which is at 10 food, and pop 4, perfect to start pumping out settlers every 4 turns...
2150BC: 3 cities (including capital). Placements are 44 (Rotterdam) and 87 (The Hague), both of which will become worker pumps. The capital is a 4 turn pump, I have 324 gold in the bank and 13gpt, writing in ten. One granary already built and another two in production.
1790BC: Discover Writing, trade it for 18g+IW+wheel with the Ottomans, and for myst with America. Tech parity at last, Philo in 22 turns @ 70% science, 30% lux (lux will shortly be decreasing.)Last edited by Krill; September 13, 2004, 14:21.You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Wow, lots of wine to drink!
Well the extra food from wine won't arrive until leaving despotism, but once it does, your population will explode!
