  • Question about declaring war

If you initiate a war by attacking an enemy unit that is inside your territory, who is considered the aggressor for WW purposes?

In SP its obvious - you can demand a unit leave your territory and if they don't they have to declare war, but in MP its not too clear to me as there is no "Leave or declare war" option.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

I think the "Leave or Declare War" option is still adviable in multiplayer.

      It's not.

If you're attacked on your territory then you get the WW happiness bonus.

Trip: so you mean if I initiate an attack against an enemy unit in my territory, I get the WW bonus?

            Well that's interesting.

Is this true in ptw pbem as well?

This may seem like a silly question......but does the War Happiness bonus only apply if you are in Republic or Democracy, or to all governments?

Yes, I think. Only govs with WW, anyway.

Yes, I should have included Feudalism too. Hmmm, so you don't get the War Happiness from being attacked if you are in Monarchy, for instance?

I don't believe so. I'm fairly certain its only a function (intended or not, I'm not sure) of negative WW.

War Happiness DOES occur while in Monarchy! I play a mod where Marketplaces do not increase luxury trade, and it is much easier to notice.

Ok, well I must say that's what I originally thought.

                            So.....next question is:

If I declare war on Civ A, who has an MPP with Civ B who then is forced to declare war (Civ B being human, but I guess that doesn't matter)......do I get War Happiness from Civ B (again, regardless of Government)?

                              And another question:

If the civ receiving the War Happiness is in Monarchy (or another non-WW goverment), will the War Happiness therefore continue at the same level for as long as they remain at war? Since there is no WW for such governments, the logical answer is yes, though this doesn't seem very appropriate for game play purposes.
