  • Civ 2 to Civ 3 compatibility

Just how compatible are Civ 2 (and for that matter Civ1) files in Civ3C? I note, for example, that city improvement files in Civ2 were .TGA files which are unrecognised by my photo-editor.

Can one use Civ2 units in Civ3 or are there compatibility issues?

No matter how fond you are of 'lost loves' in CIV2 or way back to CIV1; it is far wiser to build anew in the Conquest Game Editor. No matter, for after hours of work, funny things can happen and the game crashes. Whereas, sticking to a clean start is generally stable and safe. I say generally, for it is still possible to 'screw it up' in Conquests if your wild and sloppy.

I could not agree more about the Conquests editor, though it is a pity you (or more accuratily I) cannot add to worker actions. I really, really wish I could build bridges!

It was more a question of whether the unit files are compatible.
