Does anyone know how to fix the game so Conquests starts with the menu and not the rather noisy movie?

    click during the movie

There's some .ini option, but I forget what it is.

      PlayIntro=0
Can be 0 or 1. If 0, the intro movie is not displayed.

Yes I'd like to know too.

What is the file and it's location?

          C:\Programs\Infogrames(Atari)\Civ3\C3C and then what?

It is it not in by default you will have to edit the ini and add the entry.

If you have only vanilla civ3, it should be added to civilization.ini in the root directory of civ3.

If you have any add on, it will depend on what you play. If you have say C3C and never play any civ3 or PTW, you will only have conquest.ini and that is where it goes.

So if you play all three version, they should each have an ini.

              D:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\conquest.ini.

Sorry I forgot to answer that one.

Thanks, I got it working. Or not working, rather.

Thanks I got it to work too!

I had to add the line to the .ini file however as there was no existing statement (playintro=0) in there.

That's no suprize, I had to add the keepres = 1 line (or something like it) to get it not to change my screen resolution. Well, it still actually does change the resolution for the movie but switches it right back after the movie.

Of note, if you want to see a different movie (say the security report), you can make a backup of the movie, and copy over that movie right over the existing one.

Does that mean you can run C3C in another screen resolution other than the default??

There is another command for that you have to edit into the .ini

Theseus asked this question a while back and got all the answers

I also bumped it to the top in the Conquests forum.
