  • Modifying corruption and food in an ongoing game

I would like to modify corruption/waste in a game I am currently playing. Normally, I think that corruption is an important part of the game, but I am currently testing the limits of what the Civ III engine can handle (but doing so through playing the game - much more fun that way). I am playing a custom made scenario I have created with a 300*300 huge map. The problem is that I forgot to change the optimal number of cities to something higher, so corruption in my empire is rampant despite courthouses, etc.

Another thing I would like to change is for citizens to eat only 1 food versus 2 food each, so that I can see a population boom. Again, I have the same problem as above - I do not know how to do this, since I have been playing the game for 10+ hours and do not want to restart. Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm not sure if anything can change the rules mid-game, but if anything can, it'll be C3MT

Also have a look at the BIX/BIQ format thread at the top of the Civ3-Creation form, it has lots of info on where such things are kept, then you can use a hex editor to change in in the \AUTO saved games.
