  • Not sure if this is a bug or not

Okay, I played a single-player game of Civ3-Conquests. I conquered the world. Not a single foreign-owned city anywhere on the map and yet, I was not informed that I conquered the world. Nothing. I could keep on playing the game but there are no more enemies left on the map anywhere!

Am I missing something? Shouldn't the game present some kind of "Congratulations you just conquered the world" screen? Or is this a bug?

What is the current year in the game. I am guessing it is after 2050AD. If so that is why, the game ended long ago and you can play on as long as you want now.

Otherwise is this a scenario? It could have special victory conditions, but I am not sure what they may be.

and have you explored the entire map? Have you built the apollo program (which reveals the entire map I believe)? also I ask if you have the don't restart eliminated civs option checked. I always have that one checked.

        Settler on a ship?

Also, check your victory conditions, make sure you can win by conquest. If you have the entire map revealed, check your diplomatic options and if there is anyone there, they have a settler loose somewhere.

            Curiouser and curiouser

No settler on ship, no other civs in existence, entire map revealed.

Haven't checked the victory conditions though. I'll bet the answer lies there.

You can turn off conquest victory? That seems kinda pointless...

                    Aaahh!!

Okay, turns out I had to play out a couple more turns after I conquered the evil English. THEN I finally earned my Conquest Victory.

Kinda strange behavior though. I would assume that the program would give me the victory as soon as the last civ has been destroyed.

Thanks to all for your assistance.

That is strange. Did you get the "We have destroyed..." popup two turns before the victory registered?

Yes, and another bug just appeared

You mean the popup that tells me that I've destroyed the worthless English, or whatever it says? That popped up the moment I took over their last city. They had no remaining units outside the city.

Weird, huh? Really felt like a bug to me though.

                        Speaking on bugs...

Also, have you heard of the one where in Conquests, if you play a regular civ game, not one that came with Conquests, and create a custom civ name, then later when you play a Conquest scenario, the civ name you made up continues to appear for each civ in the scenario? I played the middle ages scenario and all the civs had my custom name. I picked Burgundy and had to change the names back to Burgundy, Burgundians, etc.

That has GOT to be a bug. Not a major one, but a bit annoying.

Never heard of or seen that one, but I gave up the vanilla game long ago, so it's not surprising.
