  • This Is Great! Yip Yip Hooray!

Ok..Im done..but the reason I am a is because having started in the CIV II Phase of this addicting and thoroughly enjoyable experience known as Civilization, I have come to love Doughnut Worlds Versus Earth Worlds..

I just started a scenario and found through experimentation that indeed one can have X + Y I believe its called or whatever where you can connect all sections east and west & North and south!

POk..Just found out now I'll be good ang nite nite

(just that this was one of the few items I dislike about CIV versus Call To Power

CIVIII Conquests Rocks and rocks all night long..

    Wrapping is the term.

I play this way often. The only problem is, quite frequently, the maps generated have landmasses that will wrap all the way around the globe on the north/south axis. I generally end up cutting a continent in half.

if we go straight north we don't end up in Antartica

there is a way to implement a fairly realistic movement across the poles. If they would be willing to code it.

"Doughnut worlds" are a good idea in concept: moving from the north pole to the south pole seems very interresting from a tactical standpoint.

This is because moving across the world takes a lot less time when you are trying to move very far south it takes a lot less time.

But, in reallity, a Doughnut world would have no poles, and that seems very unrealistic. This is because a world where you can move from the extreme north to the extreme south very fast would not be in support of a world where poles existed.

                  Another thing...

Why do you need to add a picture at the end of your posts Grandpa Troll?

Do you have some file where you keep a random assortment of pictures to add onto your comments in apolyton forumes?

Finally, do you add these pictures in order to make your post more unique and interresting to the reader?

It'd probably be relatively simple to implement donut worlds... I dunno whether the pathing algorithm could handle it though.

                      Calm down

                      Calm down

Ok I'll take one question at a time

You barbeerhj your question and here is the answer:

Its got to do with Hypothemic H3Grw5 Gases being imploded into a Turbine at 135 degrees Celcius

                      Ok next
Yes called a Super Computer, bought like 1200 Free hours to some place in new Mexico that had some excess storage space, seems they recently cleaned out some files.. Los Alam..something or another...

                      and the last question

Yes..as we all have our own methods of detracting ..ummm...attaracting.. no..no.. Attaching to gain attention..maybe one day it will pay off..who knows

                        What?

What does "Hypothemic H3Grw5 Gases being imploded into a Turbine at 135 degrees Celcius" have to do with my questions?

Also, I would rather not see them making another CtP style map come back onto the market with a doughnut world.

Grandpa Troll, you are irreverent and misbehaving again!! Your child-like enthusiasm is wonderful and you are apt at deflecting critiizism with flung dung. But you needlessly burn up the band-width in forums turning to ghost towns. And why are you picking on 'settlers'? New blood is rarer and rarer. And the few 'old farts' need not roll over so much.

The World is round, however just turn it 'inside out', put the 'Sun' in the center it will all make sense again...

Use these things Grandpa Troll, that's what there for...

If someone likes donut worlds (or large worlds, or small, or Mr Potato Head worlds) what does it matter to others?

Realistic? First of all it is a GAME. And second of all, not a very realistic one anyway. But it sure is FUN. I prefer to leave realistic at the door when I log on to play a game.
