  • installing problem

    Hi!

I was just wondering if it's possible to install Civ 3 completely on my hard disk. Since I don't like to put the game out of the box into the pc every time.

It has to be possible since you can buy and download the game through fileplanet!

    Thanks already!

It will install all the files if you choose full installation, but it'll still want the CD when the game first starts for the copy protection program.

      Aha!

Thanks. So I guess this means I'll have to keep the cd rom nearby...

        Unfortunately, yes.

However, if the issue is you want to put other CDs in the drive for music etc while Civ is running, you can remove the CD after the program starts (the intro movie plays and you get to the main menu) under a full install; full installs of Civ won't need to access the CD during play.

          Thanks again Kloreep!

I realise I sound a lot like somebody with an illegal copy, but this is really not the case. It's just that, with some much free gigs on my computer, I thought it cool to just being able to start a game like all other programs on my computer, without having to load a cd every time.
