JereL, I believe workers are the most underrated unit in the game, yet so important.

Normally in my building queue, after building a warrior I then build a worker. I'll do this in each city.

You just cannot have six cities and only a worker at Emperor IMHO at the beginning. It's a priority to get those cities connected to the capital, to key resources, to luxuries, moving your still scarce troops around.

Imagine where the Romans would be without having built the Via Appia, no Empire lasting a thousand years or more. Build more workers, at least one for each city.

BTW, Cort Haus, did you just change the flag of your country over from the czech or am I...... ?

Yeah, Drakann, I just switched to Greece after they beat the Czechs, and farewell to Milan Baros in the avatar too. After the tournament I'll revert to England (perhaps with a picture of Sol Campbell).

No big thing, I rebuilt my computer for three reasons:

        1. I can't stand having something obsolete
        2. Civ3
        3. I have no formal computer knowledge and figured it would be a fun challenge

Everybody that knew I was doing it just assumed it was 1 & 3 and never asked.

This month I'm getting my kids a new computer. My excuse because my kids are getting older (oldest is almost 12) and will need the extra memory for "educational" purposes.

Truth is that my oldest son is hooked on Civ3, and it pains me to see him wait through long, long turns. His animation looks like slow motion compared to my computer. Of course my son is so hooked that he does not complain.

Also, once he gets the new computer, we can play MP against each other.

That would be as funny as it is cruel.

Don´'t worry RMS. I also bought the latest CPU and told everybody I just needed it for my work "at home". Just cannot stand waiting 5 or ten minutes between turns. I just read a book or the newspaper.

Great father Imtoops, wish mine had done the same for me.

My son is 11 years old, and he has not figured out all the ins and outs of Civ3. When he gets the new CPU we can play Conquest against each other and see who is King.

The tricky part of getting the computer was explaining it to my wife (she just doesn't get into game). Luckily, his computer is really, really slow (pre-pentium I believe). Playing on his computer takes 5 times longer. Anyway, some of his "educational" programs has problems running...so he really needs an upgrade.
