  • Anyone played Multiplayer on dialup?

Has anyone out there play a internet multiplayer game on a dialup modem? If so how did it play?

I played during the beta-test on dial-up. It was slow/sluggish, but it could be done with players who are patient. Some games lasted far past an hour before any problems. Definitely stick with small/tiny worlds.

I have since gotten a cable connection. Completely different world!

I tried, but gave up since other players won't allow you to play if your ping is too high.

Latencacy was always a problem. Interruptions as well. Go DSL!

For 1:1 duels its tolerable, for anything else it's not (33.6-56k).

Also there is a problem with "lazy" DSL players who won't allow you to join.
