If you mean creating something that works like a CivII-styler Heli, the answer is no.

The closest you could do would be creating a land unit with ATAR.

A Helicopter is simply an air unit with a transport capacity, the ability to unload and airdrop, and with the "Air Transport" flag selected. (And it also has the "can only carry foot units" flag.)

List of unit abilities: Can't you see that in the editor? There's a scrollbox with them for every unit in the PC one. I don't know what the Mac editor is like.

I think the copter is comes just after the various aircraft in the list.

As I said, there is no Helicopter unit ability... it's just an air unit that has a value greater than 0 in the Transport Capacity box, and the Air Transport strategy selected.

It may also need the airdrop flag to be able to drop units rather than just carry them from base to base. I'm not sure about that

Nope, you can't add unit abilities.

                    It's not really needed anyway.

Kloreep, have you found a way to have helicopters load units away from a base? I've been working on that one for a while with no luck. (Sorry to intrude...)

? I'm not sure what you mean.

If you mean transport a loaded unit from one base to another like an airlift, I thought they could do that; but maybe I'm wrong. Been a while since I played in the Modern age.

I essentially was trying to create a 'flying transport' that could load and unload in the field, and move around like any other unit. Airdropping would not have been necessary. However, the problem with that is there is no chance of interception by fighters, and when a land unit attacks the resting helicopter, the ground units defend it first. While this may be realistic, I'm afraid it gives the unit too great an advantage. Any ideas? Thanks!
