    Well, lets see... from the top of my head, things I can think of which worked properly with the last patch of PTW but are now broken in C3C are:
    -the Submarine bug (units in C3C 'bumping' into a sub and starting wars)
    -Barbarians are broken-if units are in the wrong position relative to the barbs, the barbs won't attack them-even if they are undefended settlers or workers.
    -The AI doesnt know how to use leaders to make Armies, giving the human a great advantage.
    -AI ships will now repeatedly bombard units in cities, injuring units (which heal next turn with barracks) rather than cut routes to resources as it used to do in PTW
    -AI workers are not as 'clever' in their choices in C3C as they were in PTW.

    I believe that these issues are important enough to argue that for single player, PTW gives a better challenge than C3C

    And there are some new bugs/balance issues introduced with C3C such as:
    -the Scientific Golden age doesn't work
    -as Sir Ralph stated;
    -the governments arent balanced
    - the agricultural trait is too powerful

    And then there is this list of 50+ 'features' which could be improved

    Apart from these things though, C3C is pretty good

      Hm. Seems like Civ3+PTW is the way to go for single player. Even so, out of curiosity, what does conquests have as far as multiplayer? Is it a big improvement over PtW, at least in LAN? (ie, is it playable..I hear people have problems with no popups and not seeing battles, etc.) Thanks.

        Question is will the next (and i've heard last) patch resolve these issues?

        It would be great to buy a finished product once in a while

          Can't remember the last time I've ever seen that.
