  • How to get water to a land tile?

In Call To Power if you had a forest and wanted to have farms for the growth, you had to make a "roadway system" of terraformed tiles from either a river or some body of water..(i.e. ocean, lake, river) to the city....

Is this the same basic application here in CIVIII:Conquests?

I forget what its called in Conquests, but its the 3 squiggly lines..maybe "irrigation" if I remember correctly?

Thanks in advance for helping a "Convert-in-Training"

    Peace

Yes, its called irrigation. You can't irrigate forests thought, you first have to cut them down, and if they are next to fresh water (rivers or lakes) or another already irrigated square then you can irrigate.

Basically same as CTP..if no water body then bring the water, 1 tile at a time to them

The fresh water requirement is key. You can't just irrigate from an ocean. You can only irrigate from rivers or fresh water (inland) lakes. After the discovery of Electricity you can irrigate anywhere regardless of fresh water, but that's pretty far into the game.

Oh, you can use cities to bring water as well. Normally, this doesn't mean very much, but if you found a city on a hill that is next to fresh water, which cannot be irrigated, then all surrounding tiles are considered to have access to fresh water.

                        Which brings another interesting question?

Does anyone build on a mountain near water..for bonus of production?

Or does the mountains not give that in this game?

In CTP I would take a mountain tile because of the X2 bonus for the tile that your sitting on and then give great prodcution..and live on the surrounding land!

Not great for growth but excellent for production!

                        Peace

                          welcome (back) mr Troll.

you cant build Cities on montains in conquests (epic games anyway im fairly sure you can build cities on mountains in the age of discovery scenario).

and lets see how much fun you are having as you watch those houres whizz by as you sit infront of your PC and contemplate whether its more benificial to assign that new citizen in your city to a mined grass or irrigated plains

In Epic C3C, cities are not possible on mountains and marshes.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?
