hi. i just bought civ3 conquests and i'm playing a custom map. for some reason i couldn't get to the city view (city graphics where you can see your city improvements, wonders, etc). none of my "civ-content" games has the city view option! i can't even view the palace. is it just me or what? thanks for any help.

They disabled it outside of the Epic game, to cut out the need for extra artwork for the Conquests and scenarios. Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

well thanks for the replies. i thought i did something wrong there. kind of a shame that it's not included though, it's true there's really not much use for it (i didn't even notice it til today_ i bought the game last week), but it was nice to look into your city once or twice. too bad they didn't include it.

The short answer as usual is time and money. Firaxis and Breakaway were given a fixed budget and schedule to deliver Conquests. Priorities had to be made.Seemingly Benign

They do have a habit of hardcoding stuff that shouldn't be, don't they? Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

I just hope that in civ4 they'll make a city-screen that actually works. The civ 1 screen was great. It gave a perfect idea of how big the city was.
And of course the marching soldiers when you conquered the city was a cool sight as well!Formerly known as "CyberShy"

That forum is death, AFAICS.
One day some firaxis guy said the word 'civ4', then a whole lot of civ-community started to produce lists etc.
And since then tons of list-material has been produced, but no firaxis guy has mentioned the civ-4 word again.
I'm afraid they're still reading through the list-materialFormerly known as "CyberShy"
